Bites of Bellevue food tour showcases local cuisine, community-driven eateries

Community, In the News,

The Bellevue Chamber and other community partners were invited to take part in the new “Bites of Bellevue” food tour, so we wanted to take you along for the ride.

Sarah Martinez, our Director of Member Experience and Sales, and Sam Jones, our Director of Communications, were able to go on the tour, and we decided to switch things up with a recap from Sarah. Read it below!

A new way to explore Bellevue for visitors and residents alike … through food! While we have lived and worked in Bellevue for a while now, both Sam and myself learned new facts about Bellevue on this food tour. A result of a partnership between Savor Seattle and Visit Bellevue, the tour includes 10+ tastings at 5 different establishments over the course of 2-2.5 hours for the cool price of $89.

We started at the legendary John Howie restaurant, Seastar Restaurant & Raw Bar, where we kicked things off with a unique experience, talking with Chef Terence and sampling his handpicked selection of seafood.

After that we stopped at Bellden Cafe, one of my favorite local spots. We sampled an avocado toast that I am yet to have enough of, despite having eaten there several times. (It is just that good.) Even with food allergies and dietary restrictions, our tour guide did an amazing job creating options for everyone.

After Bellden we walked over to Bis on Main, where we had an amazing prawn that makes the tour all by itself. We even got to meet the owner, Bobby Moore, as he shared stories and fun facts about his restaurant, and the dishes we tried.

After that we stayed on Main Street and stopped by Matcha Magic, sampling different matcha drinks and learned about the process of making the tea derivative.

We finished off the tour at Mercato Stellina, with the best pizza of all time. They even made us a gluten free crust, and it was the cherry (tomato) on top of the entire tour.

I had such a nice time exploring new places and different kinds of food right in our backyard. (And honestly, I was also pleasantly surprised at how much food we got to eat on the tour!)

We would highly recommend this tour for locals and visitors alike, as we were joined by hoteliers, local foodies, and even the Mayor of Bellevue herself.

Thanks Savor Seattle and Bites of Bellevue for hosting us! Learn more about the tour here.
