King County Council District 9
The Eastside Business Alliance today announced its early endorsement of Reagan Dunn for reelection to King County City Council.
Councilmember Reagan Dunn has become a veteran a member of the County’s legislative body. First appointed and elected in 2005, he has been reelected every four years since that time. In 2017, he garnered 66% of the vote.
By all accounts, Dunn is a good fit for his once rural and now increasingly suburban district. Serving as vice chair of the Council, chair of the Local Services Committee and vice-chair of the Green River Flood Control District put Dunn in key positions to work on issues important to the communities he represents. Dunn believes in regional cooperation, and his work on the council has earned him coveted endorsements from the mayors of Bellevue, Black Diamond, Covington, Enumclaw, Kent, Maple Valley and Renton.
Councilmember Dunn has turned his focus on the dramatic rise in homicides, property and drug crimes in King County, as well as an increase in police response times. As a former federal prosecutor, he is well prepared to lead on these issues.
Dunn has also used his position at King County to promote economic recovery during the pandemic, helping support struggling businesses and expedite access to protective gear and vaccines.
Years ago, Reagan faced his own demons when he announced that he was a recovering alcoholic. Rather than holding this highly personal fact from the public, he has used his disease and his own personal experience to help countless others battling addiction. In 2016, Reagan led a coalition of substance abuse advocates in the legislature to pass groundbreaking reforms to strengthen the efficacy of addiction recovery programs.
King County needs a balanced and experienced voice for our changing region. Reagan Dunn continues to be that voice.
