Kathy Lambert

King County Council District 3

If anyone in local government deserves the nickname, “Hardest Working Elected Official,” it is King County Councilmember Kathy Lambert. After serving in the Washington State House and Senate, Kathy joined the King County Council, where she has a demonstrated a deep passion for the people and communities she represents.

Kathy represents Council District 3, which stretches from Redmond, Skykomish, Woodinville, Carnation, and Duvall in the north, all the way to Issaquah, Sammamish, and North Bend along the I-90 corridor. Serving a district of nearly 1,000 square miles requires boundless energy, a good listening ear, and an ability to think on the fly.

With King County serving as the local government for so much of her district, constituent services and accessibility is an essential job requirement. Kathy helped establish the King County Department of Local Services, serves as chair of Regional Water Quality Committee, and is vice-chair of the Budget and Local Services committees.

If that is was not enough, Councilmember Lambert has led an ongoing coalition of local elected officials in support of solutions to repair and maintain failing local roads and bridges in East and South King County. Recently, she has also developed a reputation for leadership on Waste to Energy, Recycling, and Upcycling, and last year lead several symposia on these subjects at the King County Council.

Most importantly, Kathy Lambert is a mother, grandmother, and former teacher, life experiences that have served her well in public service. We strongly endorse Kathy Lambert for re-election in 2021.
