Frank Blethen is a fourth-generation member of the Blethen family, which founded The Seattle Times in 1896. Blethen is deeply committed to diversity, equal opportunity, and inclusion. His other passions include his family, preserving family-owned businesses and independent journalism.
Melissa Matassa Flores was appointed executive editor in 2019 to lead The Seattle Times newsroom and work with the executive team as it continues to push the envelope on journalism and business innovation. In her previous role as managing editor, she oversaw the day-to-day operations of the newsroom and its 145 journalists and directed news coverage.
