Chamber Board Endorses Bellevue Propositions One and Two

The Chamber Board has voted to endorse Bellevue Proposition One, relating to fire services and Proposition Two regarding neighborhood safety, connectivity and congestion relief.

Both propositions are twenty year property tax measures and combined, would authorize an additional property tax rate of up to 27.5 cents per $1,000 in assessed value. Projected yield would be $13 million per year or $260 million total over the life of the two levies.

While the Chamber is cautious about supporting property tax increases, the Board sees keeping up with demand for fire protection and congestion relief as important competitive advantages in attracting and retaining business across all sectors. Read the Chamber’s press release here.
