5 Things

1. There’s No Crying in Chamber Work
When the time comes to leave an organization that has meant so much to you, how do you say goodbye? Instead, I will say “until we meet again!” While I’m leaving the Bellevue Chamber to embark on a new chapter in my career, I will miss the people from whom I’ve learned so much – my team and the members we serve. It has truly been a privilege to work with many of you on the programs and opportunities the Chamber provides. Thank you for an amazing almost 13 years!

Sara Garner
, Vice President
2. Have Lunch with a Rock Star
Congrats to our
2019 Bellevue Chamber Foundation Scholarship recipients:
Eshika Saxena of Interlake High School and Melody Yeung of Sammamish High School. Show your support for these amazing students at the award presentation during the June 6 Business Lunch with King County Councilmember Claudia Balducci.
3. If It Feels a Bit More Crowded…
You’re right. Close to 150,000 now call Bellevue home – that’s according to new Census figures. The city has added close to 20,000 people over the last eight years. The Bellevue/Seattle/Tacoma area now accounts for nearly 4 million people.
4. City Appoints New Transpo Director
Andrew Singelakis has been appointed Bellevue’s new Transportation Department director. Andrew brings more than 25 years of experience as an executive working at cities, counties and regional planning agencies, and has the track record to “help Bellevue plan for its booming growth, now and into the future.”
5. Top of the Block
Wright Runstad & Company recently celebrated a huge milestone at the Topping Out of Block 16 in Bellevue’s Spring District. The state-of-the art 11-story building is the future home of Facebook, and has 316,000 square feet of office space.
