5 Things: March 30, 2021
1. Celebrate & Inspire Bellevue
Bellevue Chamber's Annual Gala
Thursday, April 1, 2021 | 4:00 - 5:00 pm
Pre-Event Experiences Begin at 3:30 pm
The past year has been filled with challenges and hardships for many businesses and individuals, but it has also exposed the strength and heart of the Eastside community. At this year’s Virtual Annual Gala, we will be taking a look back at the last year and get ready for the year ahead as we Celebrate and Inspire Bellevue.
Our KeyBank Community Spotlight will highlight nine individuals and organizations that made an outstanding impact on our community through the challenges of Covid-19.
Join us early for a culinary and cocktail experience, stay tuned for information regarding the Annual Gala Auction, and get ready to be competitive in the trivia breakout.
2. Leading Through Crisis
The Bellevue Chamber is thrilled to have Alicia Boler Davis as keynote speaker at this year’s Annual Gala. Alicia is the Vice President of Global Customer Fulfillment at Amazon. In this role, she is responsible for the network of hundreds of sites around the world. In addition, she leads the worldwide network of Customer Service operations and technology, as well as the Sustainability, Product Safety and Security, Product Compliance, Robotics, and Amazon Fulfillment Technologies, the technical team that builds the tools used across Worldwide Operations. Join in on the conversation between Alicia and Joe as they discuss Amazon’s response to the pandemic and their growth plans for Bellevue.
3. Going Once, Going Twice
Browse the auction site for a curated selection of items and experiences you can take home all for yourself as a reward for making it through 2020.
All the funds raised from the Annual Gala will go to providing much-needed support to small businesses in our community, and to continue the Chamber’s youth entrepreneurial and education programs.
Bidding is open now and will close at 5:30 pm on April 1, a half-hour after the Gala ends.
Raffle winners will be drawn at the end of the program; purchase your tickets to be entered to win one of five prizes.
4. Emergency Grants for Small Business
Over the last year, Washington State has provided small businesses throughout the state with more than $125 million in grants to address the economic outfall of COVID-19. This effort continues with a new round of grant opportunities managed by the Washington State Department of Commerce.
Working Washington Round 4 offers grant relief funds to small for-profit businesses, especially those that were required to close due to public health and safety measures.
5. Join Us for Lunch
Thursday, April 22, 2021 | 12:00 - 1:00 pm
At our next Chamber Lunch, we will take a look at how companies and nonprofits are working together to solve community problems. The program will discuss the corporate philanthropy and employee engagement programs championed by leading companies that make our region a better place.
Join us virtually every month through August as regional leaders share insights on a variety of critical topics. Each program will provide an opportunity to engage and collaborate with business leaders during the breakout sessions.
