The Legislature has started its 60 day session and is tackling a variety of issues that affect local communities and businesses. Join us January 29 for "Chamber Day" on Capitol Hill where you'll meet elected leaders face-to-face to discuss our community priorities.
3. Bond, School Bond
The Bellevue Chamber has announced its support for the upcoming school bond measure on the February 11, 2020 ballot. The Chamber Policy Council, a group of business leaders from both sides of Lake Washington, made the recommendation following the decision by the Bellevue School Board to seek approval from the voters to raise up to $675,000,000 in bond proceeds.
4. FAQ5: Paid Family Leave
This week we're launching a new feature called "FAQ5." The Chamber's membership includes experts from every field. This is great opportunity to get visibility by sharing your expertise or to ask about an important question or topic.
This week we'll focus on Washington's Paid Family Leave program which took effect on January 1, 2020. Over 10,000 Washingtonians filed for benefits in the first week alone but many employers still have questions.
5. Striding Forward
Sound Transit is hosting an online open house through February 14, 2020 where members of the public can learn about refinements made to the I-405 Stride Bus Rapid Transit Project as planning has progressed. Participants can also comment on station amenities and shelters, and ways to reach the future stations on foot or by bicycle.
